Experiences from clients across our three services
I came in not knowing whether I was even in the right place. Puan Rashidah spent the full ninety minutes making sure I understood what my options were — and at no point did I feel pushed toward any of them. I left feeling clearer than I had in weeks. I have since referred two friends.
Service: Pre-Filing Consultation
The property division process was slower than I expected going in — but Khairul explained at the start that taking time to get the EPF component right was worth it. He was correct. The final agreement covered things I had not thought to ask about. No surprises in the fee, either.
Service: Property Division Drafting
My situation involved both my late mother's estate and my own separation — a tangle. Lentera Keluarga handled both threads together rather than treating them as separate matters. The written file they gave me at the end made everything much easier to explain to my children later.
Service: Settled Family Estate Plan
I had gone to two other firms before this one. Both gave me the impression they were trying to move me toward the most expensive option. Here, the first question was what I actually wanted for my family — not what I was prepared to spend. That alone made the difference.
Service: Pre-Filing Consultation
We have a blended family — my husband and I each brought children from earlier marriages, and we own property in both our names. The estate plan they drafted addressed all of it in one document that actually made sense when we read it. My husband, who is not the legal type, said he finally understood what we had agreed to.
Service: Settled Family Estate Plan
The matrimonial asset work was thorough — they picked up a jointly held savings account that I had entirely forgotten. The process took about three weeks, which was longer than I hoped, but the draft came back clearly written and with a walk-through session included. Worth the time.

A couple at the edge of separation — reconsidering
Consultation · 2024Situation
A couple in their mid-forties came in convinced they would need to go to court. They had two teenage children, a jointly held apartment in Kuala Lumpur, and separate EPF accounts of significantly different sizes.
What Happened
After a ninety-minute consultation, both parties agreed to pause formal proceedings. We outlined an informal arrangement that kept the children's schooling stable and preserved the property until the market was more favourable. No court involvement.
Outcome
Six months later, the couple returned for a property division agreement. No contested proceedings were ever filed. Both clients have since referred others to the practice.
A newly widowed client with a blended family
Estate Plan · 2025Situation
A widow in her fifties with children from two marriages — one set of adult children, one set of minors — and an elderly mother in her care. The existing will was outdated and the EPF nomination listed a deceased relative.
What Happened
We drafted a new will, updated the EPF nomination, and created a trust provision for the minor children. Separately, we put in place a simple arrangement addressing the mother's care and the allocation of the family home on the client's death.
Outcome
The client received a clear written file covering all components. She described it as the first time she had seen the whole picture in one place. An optional annual review was scheduled for the following year.
Property division complicated by a jointly held business
Asset Drafting · 2024Situation
A separating couple who jointly operated a small retail business, in addition to two residential properties and intermingled savings. Each party had their own legal representation for court proceedings, but both needed the asset division handled separately.
What Happened
We coordinated with both parties' solicitors to produce a standalone property division and business exit agreement. The process required four drafting sessions and took six weeks — longer than standard, because the business valuation was contested.
Outcome
Both parties signed a comprehensive asset division agreement. The business was transferred to one party with an agreed payment schedule to the other. The residential properties were allocated with clear terms for one property to be sold within twelve months.
